a reminder

So this was a part of my Young Women's lesson last week, but I liked it and I thought it was a good reminder for all of us.

First of all, watch this video of Lil girl learning to use silverware and remember the first few things that pop into your head.

Did anyone think "She is such a mess!" "She missed her mouth AGAIN!" "She is a terrible eater." ?

No. You know she is learning and she is freakishly adorable while doing it. I know I'm slightly biased because I'm her parent - but that is part of the point too.

God is our Father. He loves us even more than I love my children. Yes, He even thinks we are cute. And He sent us here to earth to learn. He isn't angry when we try to do something and mess up. There is no such thing as a mess that we make that He can't clean up.

Of course, we will have to clean up after we make our messes - but He helps, and that is another fun learning process too, if we don't fight Him.

So don't give yourself a hard time for not being perfect. Heavenly Father doesn't expect you to be. And He isn't standing behind you with a clipboard, writing down every little thing you do wrong. He is standing in front of you with a camera so He can go tell all His facebook friends what cute kids He has.
