Well, maybe just a little

All babies look a little haggard right after being born. Something about being squeezed through a very small hole and exposed to the air for the first time will do that to you.

John insists that she looked like Emperor Palpatine of Star Wars fame.

If only the Emperor had glued a bow to his bald head, he would have looked a lot less sinister.

Pictures

(instead of a real post. Sorry, my mind isn't thinking in complete sentences at the moment.)

So, the other day I was trying to get some good pictures of the baby while my mom was holding her.

Then she sneezed:
Then Big Brother decides that she is getting too much attention.
(That is him, moving in on the left)

Way too much attention.

Then he accidently smacked her in the face.

Sorry baby.

Laundry adventures

(again)

You know how you are supposed to sort laundry by color and type before you wash it?

I just did a load soiled entirely by assorted bodily fluids.

I think that tells you enough about my day.

3

Today was John's first day back at work post baby. When he left this morning the boys were watching a movie and I was nursing the baby - very peaceful. When he came home several hours later, the baby was napping, the boys were playing nicely together and dinner was in the oven, filling the (sort-of) clean house with inviting smells. We were all dressed and presentable.

In the hours between, there was blood, sweat and tears; not to mention mud, rocks, more tears, dart guns, screaming, time outs and more tears.

The only thing keeping us from total chaos was my lovely mother. Thank heaven for grandmas!! She came and spent several hours with us in the middle of the day.

Thanks, Mom.

What we've been doing

This week we gave my little redneck boys their summer haircuts.
and tried all the bows we could find on the baby.
